Top 5 Bangalore Sightseeing Places to Visit During Your Trip
Bangalore is home to a number of interesting places that pique the attention of tourists, but some of them are more popular than others. Here are the five most popular Bangalore sightseeing places that attract all Bangalore visitors with their significance:
#1. Bengaluru Palace
With a design inspired from Windsor Castle, the Bengaluru Palace is arguably one of the most interesting landmarks in town. It was built for the royal Wadiyar family of Mysore and has many interesting artworks, statues, and objects that define the life of the Wadiyar dynasty. It’s built on the land that was owned by Bangalore Central College’s first principal, Rev. J. Garrett. It has been the venue of many international concerts from artists like Backstreet Boys, Iron Maiden, Akon, and Ludacris, but an ongoing battle between the Government of Karnataka and Mysore’s Royal Family has led to a ban on commercial activities in the palace.
#2. Lalbagh Botanical Garden
Commissioned by Sultan Hyder Ali of Mysore in 1760 and completed by his son Tipu Sultan, the Lalbagh Botanical Garden is one of the largest and oldest botanical gardens in India. Spread across 240 acres, it houses a glasshouse and an aquarium with hundreds of unique species of plants and flowers. The design of Glass House is inspired by London’s Crystal Palace. It also features many gardens dedicated to specific types of plants and flowers, including a Bonsai Garden, Cactus Garden, Hibiscus Garden, and Rose Garden, among others.
#3. ISKCON Bangalore
The ISKCON Temple of Bengaluru is a grand temple dedicated to Lord Krishna that soothes your soul with its tranquil and spiritual environment. The temple is a unique fusion of traditional temple architecture with modern aesthetics, and its expansive campus includes food stalls as well as shops from where you can buy spiritual books, flowers, etc. and a large pool with fountains that accentuates its beauty. It also has a robust crowd management system in place with buffers and on-ground security, so you can visit it and pay your respects to Lord Krishna at its sanctum sanctorum.
#4. Sri Chamarajendra Park (Cubbon Park)
Also known as Cubbon Park, Sri Chamarajendra Park in Bangalore is one of the largest and most vibrant parks in town. It is also the only park to have a busy road cutting through it, multiple museums, an aquarium, a toy train, a tennis academy, multiple statues, and pavilions. Whether you want to jog in the morning or sit down peacefully in the evening, this park is perfect for all those moments. The park is at its beautiful best in Spring when its majestic Trumpet trees bloom in their full glory.
#5. Bannerghatta National Park
If you’re a wildlife enthusiast, the Bannerghatta National Park is your perfect haven in Bengaluru. Here you can find tigers, lions, deer, bears, elephants, and every other kind of wild animal on display. However, it’s best known as the “Kingdom of Big Cats.” It includes several units such as a Zoo, a Safari zone, and a Butterfly zone. There are certain guidelines to follow when visiting the park, such as wearing headphones as the park is a silent zone and wearing clothes that merge with nature rather than bright colours.
